Open Faced Tuna Sandwich with Avocado
Description
The sandwich features chunked tuna combined with finely minced carrot, celery, and red onion, bound by mayonnaise and brightened with red wine vinegar. These ingredients create a creamy and slightly zesty tuna filling with crunch from the vegetables. Toasted multi-grain bread acts as a sturdy yet flavorful base.
A layer of romaine lettuce provides freshness and crunch beneath slices of tomato and creamy avocado, topped off with alfalfa or broccoli sprouts for a mild earthiness. Arranged open-faced, the sandwich allows the flavors and textures to be visible and appreciated in each bite.
This sandwich is well suited for a light lunch or quick meal. It doesn’t require cooking beyond toasting the bread, and the combination of vegetables adds nutrition and brightness. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper according to taste.
