Orange Dijon Glazed Ham

This Orange Dijon Glazed Ham uses a fully cooked bone-in ham brushed with a glossy glaze of orange marmalade, Dijon mustard, and fresh orange juice. The ham is baked low and slow, allowing the glaze to caramelize gently and infuse citrus and mustard flavors into the meat.

Description

The ham is brought to room temperature and placed face-down in a foil-lined roasting pan. The orange marmalade, Dijon mustard, and orange juice are combined to make a bright, tangy glaze that is brushed over the ham before baking. Adding water to the pan helps keep the ham moist during the slow oven cooking set at 275°F. The glaze is applied halfway through the baking process to build layers of flavor and a shiny surface. Once cooked and warmed through, the ham is rested covered before slicing, with extra glaze reserved for serving as a drizzle. The glaze balances the savory, smoky ham with a bright citrus mustard note.

This recipe suits holiday meals or any occasion where a warm glazed ham is desired. The low temperature encourages tender, juicy meat and a nicely caramelized exterior.

  • 1 ham I used Hormel Cure 81 bone-in ham Cherrywood flavor, fully cooked

Orange Dijon Glaze

  • ½ cup orange marmalade
  • 2 Tablespoon Dijon mustard

  3. Add 1 cup water to the pan. Cover the baking pan securely with foil or cover with roasting pan lid.
  4. Bake according to package directions (I cooked mine for 12 minutes per pound) until the ham is warm, or until the internal temperature of the ham is about 120-130 F, brushing on more glaze halfway through the baking time.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and let rest for 15 minutes before serving. Serve ham with remaining glaze to drizzle over slices.
