Oreo Chunk Cookie

Oreo Chunk Cookies feature a rich, buttery dough loaded with finely processed Oreo crumbs and larger Oreo chunks that offer a mix of smooth and crunchy textures. The cookies bake to golden edges while remaining soft inside, balancing classic cookie sweetness with the distinct flavor of Oreos throughout.

Description

This cookie recipe starts by creaming softened unsalted butter with brown and white sugars, then beating in eggs and vanilla extract. The dry ingredients—flour, baking soda, and salt—are sifted and combined with finely processed Oreo crumbs to distribute the Oreo flavor evenly in the dough.

After gentle mixing, a portion of Oreo chunks is folded in, and the dough is chilled for an hour to firm. Cookies are formed into tablespoon-sized balls, rolled in additional Oreo chunks, and placed on parchment-lined sheets spaced apart to allow spreading during baking.

Baked at 350°F for 13-15 minutes, the cookies come out with lightly browned edges and a soft center. Cooling them on the sheet before transferring to racks ensures they maintain their shape. The dual texture of Oreo crumbs and chunks makes for a distinctive cookie.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup butter softened, unsalted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar , packed
  • 2 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 10 Oreo cookies processed to a very fine crumb
  • 16 Oreo cookies crushed into chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar and white sugar until well blended.
  3. Beat in the vanilla and eggs until light and creamy.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. Add in the Oreo crumbs.
  5. Add in the sifted ingredients on lowest speed setting until just blended.
  6. Stir in 1/3 of the Oreo chunks and refrigerate dough for 1 hour.
  7. Roll dough into 1 tablespoon sized ball and roll in remaining chunks then add to a cookie sheet about 3 inches apart (refrigerate the remaining cookie dough balls you've rolled while the first batch bakes).
  8. Bake for 13-15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are lightly browned.
  9. Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely and bake the remaining batches.
