Oven Baked Chicken Thighs
Description
Oven Baked Chicken Thighs involve seasoning 12 skin-on, bone-in thighs with a blend of olive oil, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. The thighs are arranged on a lined baking sheet and baked uncovered at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 to 35 minutes. The high heat renders the skin crispy and browns the spices while keeping the inside moist.
After baking, the chicken is rested for five minutes to let juices redistribute, ensuring juicy meat when served. This preparation requires minimal handling and no prior marinating, focusing on classic seasoning and roasting techniques.
The dish can be served as a main component of a meal alongside vegetables or starches. The recipe’s simplicity makes it easy to adapt with other seasoning blends if desired.
Ingredients
- 12 chicken thighs skin on with bones
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or foil) for each clean up.
- Place the chicken thighs on the baking sheet.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken thighs. I used a basting brush to cover the chicken thighs evenly.
- Combine all the seasonings together in a small bowl.
- Rub the seasoning mixture over the chicken thighs
- Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
- Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving and enjoy!
