Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300ºF.
  2. Place brisket in a large roasting tray (disposable ones work great).
  3. Add broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce around the brisket.
  4. Sprinkle the herbs and spices in around the brisket. Cover with foil.
  5. Roast for 4-6 hours, about 1 hour and 20 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature reaches 195-200° F. Leave the foil on for the entire roasting period.
  6. When the brisket is done, it should easily shred.

Notes

  • If you want to make a smaller brisket, you can cut it in half and keep all the other measurements the same.
  • Some people start the brisket at a high temperature (400°F for 15-20 minutes) to develop a crust and then reduce it to 275°F for the rest of the cook.
  • you can marinate your brisket overnight or even inject it with a brine or beef broth to enhance the juiciness and tenderness.
  • A simple dry rub of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder works wonders. Add other spices like paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, or cumin for a deeper flavor.
