Overnight Oats with Yogurt Recipe
Description
Overnight Oats with Yogurt mixes rolled oats with vanilla yogurt, honey, and water to allow the oats to absorb moisture and soften overnight in the refrigerator. Ground cinnamon can be added for gentle warmth and aroma. The cold soaking process makes the oats tender without cooking.
After resting overnight, the mixture is stirred and served chilled. Optional toppings such as fresh berries, nuts, or granola add texture, flavor, and variety to the dish. The finished oats have a creamy consistency from the yogurt and a lightly sweet taste enhanced by honey and vanilla.
This recipe yields enough for about two servings and can be multiplied for meal prep. It is flexible with substitutions, such as using different types of yogurt or milk. Steel-cut oats are not recommended due to their firm texture after soaking.
The oats can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to four days, making it convenient for planned breakfasts. Drizzling additional honey on top just before serving can enhance sweetness if desired.
