Pale Ale Chili

Pale Ale Chili combines ground beef and sausage with bell peppers, jalapeño, poblano, garlic, and onion, simmered in a mixture of pale ale beer, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce, seasoned with chili and cumin powders. The stew is thick, hearty, and moderately spicy, finished with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and green onions for garnish.

Description

Pale Ale Chili uses a mixture of ground beef and sausage browned and combined with diced bell peppers, jalapeño, poblano peppers, garlic, and yellow onion sautéed in olive oil. The meat and vegetables are simmered together with pale ale beer, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and spices including chili powder, cumin, onion powder, and paprika, building layers of spicy and smoky flavor.

The long simmering allows the flavors to meld into a thick, savory chili with a mildly spicy heat balanced by the earthy richness of the meat and the slight bitterness of the pale ale. The texture is chunky with tender meat and soft cooked peppers.

This chili is served warm, garnished with shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, and green onions. It pairs well with cornbread and is suitable for hearty meals or gatherings. Leftovers can be frozen for later use, making it practical for batch cooking.
