Paloma Cocktail
Description
The Paloma Cocktail combines silver tequila with freshly squeezed grapefruit and lime juices for a bright citrus profile. Agave nectar brings subtle sweetness that balances the tart flavors. Rimming the glass with grapefruit juice and flaky sea salt adds a savory note that enhances the overall taste. Sparkling mineral water tops the drink, introducing a gentle fizz that lightens the texture. This method involves stirring ingredients in a salt-rimmed glass over ice, then garnishing with grapefruit and lime slices for visual appeal and additional aroma.
This cocktail serves well as a refreshing accompaniment on warm days or alongside light meals where citrusy and slightly salty notes brighten the palate. It offers a sophisticated alternative to sweeter mixed drinks with its emphasis on fresh citrus and mineral water.
For larger gatherings, the cocktail mix can be prepared ahead in a pitcher by combining tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and agave nectar. Chill the mixture, then pour over ice and add sparkling water just before serving to retain fizz and freshness. The salt rim and garnishes can be added individually for each glass.
