Pan Seared Chicken Breasts

Pan Seared Chicken Breasts are seasoned with a blend of steak seasoning and smoked and sweet paprika, then cooked in oil to create a browned, flavorful crust. Finishing with optional butter enriches the chicken, which rests before slicing to retain juicy texture.

Description

This Pan Seared Chicken Breasts recipe coats boneless, skinless chicken breasts with a seasoning mixture containing steak seasoning and two types of paprika for a smoky and slightly sweet flavor profile. Cooking in neutral oil over medium heat forms a golden crust without drying the meat. Optionally adding butter toward the end allows the chicken to basting in melted butter for extra richness.

The chicken is cooked through until an internal temperature of 165ºF is reached, ensuring juiciness. Resting the meat after cooking helps redistribute juices, enhancing tenderness. The result is chicken breasts with a well-developed crust, aromatic spices, and moist interior.

This straightforward method produces versatile chicken breasts suitable for serving sliced over salads, alongside vegetables, or with grains. Adjust seasoning quantities according to preference.

  • 2 tsp steak seasoning $0.20
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika $0.05
  • 1/2 tsp paprika $0.05, sweet
  • 2 chicken breast $6.79, boneless, skinless, 1.3 lbs total
  • 1 Tbsp neutral cooking oil $0.08, generic cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Combine the steak seasoning, smoked paprika, and sweet paprika in a bowl. Coat the chicken breasts liberally with the seasoning on all sides.

  4. For extra luscious chicken, add a tablespoon of butter to the skillet, allow it to melt, then flip the chicken a couple of times to coat in the melted butter.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a clean cutting board and allow it to rest for five minutes before slicing and serving.
