Pancakes Recipe

Report
This Pancakes Recipe uses whole-wheat flour combined with baking powder, honey or maple syrup, almond milk, and coconut oil to create fluffy, mildly sweet pancakes. The batter is gently mixed and cooked on a griddle until bubbles form and edges set, producing a golden-brown exterior with a tender interior. These pancakes offer a heartier texture than all-purpose flour versions and can be topped as desired for breakfast or brunch.

Description

This pancake recipe combines whole-wheat flour with leavening from baking powder to produce a fluffy structure. Honey or pure maple syrup provides a subtle sweetness, balanced by a pinch of sea salt. The wet ingredients include eggs and almond milk, which hydrate the batter and contribute to tenderness. Coconut oil enriches the batter and helps with browning during cooking.

Cooking involves pouring small scoops onto a preheated griddle or nonstick skillet coated with oil or cooking spray. The pancakes cook until the edges look set and bubbles form on the surface before flipping to finish. This method supports an even golden crust and a soft, approachable texture inside.

These pancakes suit a variety of breakfast settings and accommodate favorite toppings like fresh fruit, syrups, or nut butters for a customizable meal.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups whole-wheat flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder aluminium-free
  • 2 tablespoons honey organic raw, or pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt sea salt
  • 2 egg large
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk or another plant-based milk
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil plus more for cooking
  • cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole-wheat flour, baking powder, honey or maple syrup, and sea salt.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the eggs and almond milk until well combined.
  3. Gradually pour the wet mixture and the melted coconut oil into the dry ingredients, whisking until just combined. If the batter appears too thick, add a tablespoon of almond milk.
  4. Preheat a griddle or nonstick skillet over medium heat. Lightly coat with cooking spray or a small amount of coconut oil. Once hot, pour about ¼ cup of batter for each pancake onto the griddle.
  5. Cook until the edges look set and bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, about 2-3 minutes. Flip the pancakes and cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Serve the pancakes warm with your favorite toppings.
