Panda Express Honey Sesame Chicken Copycat
Description
The chicken breast pieces are first whisked in an egg mixture with seasoning and oil, then dredged in a cornstarch-flour blend before frying at high heat until golden and crisp. A honey sesame sauce made from sweet chili sauce, honey, rice vinegar, soy sauce, water, and cornstarch is cooked until thickened separately.
After frying, the pan oil is mostly drained before quickly sautéing string beans and bell peppers to a tender-crisp state. The fried chicken pieces are returned to the pan with the sesame sauce and sesame oil, then tossed together to evenly coat. Sesame seeds and green onion garnish finish the dish.
The final dish balances sweet and savory notes with a crunchy exterior on the chicken and crisp vegetables, making it suitable as a flavorful entrée served with hot steamed rice.
