Panda Express String Bean Chicken Breast Copycat
Description
The Panda Express String Bean Chicken Breast Copycat starts with marinated chicken breast slices in soy sauce, rice wine, cornstarch, and brown sugar, which tenderizes the meat and adds flavor. The chicken is cooked in batches in hot oil until golden, creating a light crust without overcooking. Green beans and onions are sautéed briefly to maintain some crunch before the chicken and a mixture of broth, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, and aromatics are added back to the pan.
The sauce thickens quickly, glazing the chicken and vegetables with a savory and slightly sweet coating brightened by garlic, ginger, and optional chili heat. The dish melds tender chicken, crisp green beans, and flavorful sauce into a balanced stir-fry reminiscent of the restaurant original.
Serve the dish immediately, garnished with sesame seeds if desired. It works well over steamed rice for a complete meal. Marinating longer intensifies the flavor and tenderness of the chicken.
