Papitas

Ingredients

  • 1 green plantain
  • 1 lime
  • water
  • vegetable oil (for frying)
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the plantain then cut it into thin slices lengthwise.
  2. Place the plantain slices in a large bowl of water with the lime juice, and salt added.
  3. Heat a large volume of vegetable oil in a pan to a temperature of 350 F (175°C).
  4. Deep fry the plantain slices in the hot oil until they are crispy and golden.
  5. Drain and place on paper towel, then season with salt.
  6. Serve hot.
