Parmesan Broiled Tilapia
Description
This dish uses defrosted tilapia fillets broiled in two stages. First, the fillets are broiled plain to start cooking the fish. Then, after flipping them, a parmesan mixture made with butter, mayonnaise, fresh lemon juice, and dill is spread over the uncooked side. Broiling the fish further melts the cheese topping and finishes cooking the fish, resulting in a tender interior and a lightly browned, flavorful crust formed by the topping.
The combination of Parmesan and mayo keeps the topping creamy and adds savoriness without overpowering the delicate fish. Lemon juice and dill add fresh, bright notes. Seasoned salt and black pepper provide additional seasoning. The fish should be monitored closely to avoid overcooking under the broiler.
Serve this broiled tilapia immediately after cooking to enjoy the contrast of the warm, soft fish and the crisp-topped layer. It pairs well with simple vegetables or a light salad for a balanced meal.
