Paula Deen's Broccoli Salad

Report
Paula Deen's Broccoli Salad features bite-sized broccoli florets mixed with halved cherry tomatoes, cheddar cheese pieces, raisins, diced red onions, and crispy bacon. The creamy dressing combines mayonnaise with sugar and white vinegar, coating the salad for a balance of crunchy, sweet, and savory flavors. The salad is chilled before serving and offers a substantial side dish.

Description

This salad combines fresh broccoli florets with juicy cherry tomatoes and cubes of sharp cheddar cheese to provide varied textures. Raisins add a sweet chewiness, while diced red onions contribute sharpness. Crispy cooked bacon pieces bring a smoky, salty element that complements the other ingredients. The dressing is a blend of mayonnaise, granulated sugar, and white vinegar, providing creaminess with a slight tang and sweetness that ties the salad together.

The ingredients are combined and allowed to chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour to let the flavors meld and the dressing to firm up slightly. This salad can be served cold as a hearty side at barbecues, potlucks, or casual meals. The mixture of fresh vegetables with bacon and cheese makes it particularly filling.

Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and are best consumed within five days to maintain freshness and texture.
