Pea Salad
Description
Pea Salad combines tender green peas thawed from frozen with cooked, crispy bacon pieces, finely diced red onion, and sharp cheddar cheese cubes. The dressing blends sour cream and mayonnaise with sugar and vinegar to add both creaminess and a slight tang, balanced by salt and pepper.
After mixing the dressing and salad ingredients, letting it chill brings depth to the flavor and softens the sharpness of the onion and bacon. The salad is refreshing, with a mix of creamy and crunchy textures, and the sweet-sour dressing complements the smoky bacon effectively.
This salad pairs well with grilled meats or as part of a buffet. Leftovers keep for a few days refrigerated, but the bacon may lose its crispness over time. The dressing can be made ahead of time to save preparation effort on serving day.
When thawing peas, drain them well to avoid excess moisture diluting the dressing. The salad can be made hours or a day in advance, though bacon crispiness diminishes the longer it sits.

- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoon white vinegar

Notes
- Thaw frozen peas overnight in the refrigerator or quickly under cool running water; drain well before use.
