Pea Salad Recipe

This Pea Salad mixes thawed peas with a creamy mayonnaise-based dressing sweetened with sugar and tart vinegar. Shredded cheddar cheese adds sharpness and texture, while crispy bacon crumbles and optional sunflower seeds top the salad for crunch. The salad is chilled to meld the flavors and served cold as a refreshing side dish with varied textures.

Description

Pea Salad Recipe brings together frozen peas that have been thawed and combined with a dressing of mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, salt, and black pepper. The sugar balances the vinegar's acidity and the creamy mayo, resulting in a subtly sweet and tangy coating for the peas. Shredded cheddar cheese introduces a mild sharpness and a chewy texture contrast.

After mixing, the salad is refrigerated for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to harmonize and the salad to chill properly. Before serving, crisp cooked bacon crumbles are added on top for a smoky, crunchy element. Sunflower seeds may be sprinkled optionally for additional texture.

This salad works well as a cold side dish in picnics, barbecues, or casual meals. Its blend of creamy, sweet, tangy, and salty notes with varied textures makes it a versatile addition to any meal.
