Peach Caprese Salad

Peach Caprese Salad combines ripe peach slices, fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves layered and drizzled with a white balsamic vinaigrette. The salad offers a refreshing mix of sweet, creamy, and herbaceous flavors, with a balance of juicy fruit and soft cheese, enhanced by a tangy vinaigrette made from white balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and fresh herbs.

Description

The Peach Caprese Salad features ripe peaches sliced with their skin on, fresh mozzarella cheese, and basil leaves arranged in alternating layers. A homemade vinaigrette made of white balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, minced fresh basil, ground peppercorn, and kosher salt is whisked together and chilled before drizzling.

The salad balances the sweetness and juiciness of the peaches with the mild creaminess of the mozzarella and the aromatic freshness of basil. The vinaigrette adds a slightly tart and peppery note that complements the ingredients without overpowering them. The texture contrast between the soft mozzarella and firm peach slices adds interest.

This dish can be served chilled or at room temperature and makes a light starter or side salad suitable for summer meals. An option to lightly grill the peach slices adds smoky caramelized notes while preserving the salad’s fresh character.

The vinaigrette can be prepared ahead and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve. The salad pairs well with crisp white wines such as Chardonnay, Viognier, or Riesling, matching the peach’s sweetness and the vinaigrette’s acidity.
