Peach Crisp

Peach Crisp combines tender sliced peaches mixed with sugar and flour, topped with a crumbly blend of flour, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, salt, and oats. The topping bakes to a golden brown, providing a pleasing texture contrast to the soft, juicy fruit beneath. This dessert works well for seasonal peach enjoyment and is easy to prepare using common pantry ingredients.

Description

Peach Crisp is a baked dessert where peach slices are coated with flour and sugar to thicken their natural juices as they cook. A crumbly topping made of flour, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, salt, and rolled oats is prepared by cutting the butter into the dry ingredients and refrigerated before baking, helping the topping hold shape and bake to a crisp texture. The assembled dish is baked until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling bubbles slightly.

The contrast between the sweet, tender peaches and the slightly crunchy topping creates a classic crisp texture with familiar cinnamon warmth. It is baked in a 9x13 inch dish, providing a substantial amount suitable for a family dessert or gathering.

This dessert can be served warm, often accompanied by ice cream or whipped cream to complement the cinnamon and fruit flavors. The oats in the topping add body and chewiness, enhancing the overall texture experience.
