Delicious homemade Peach Crisp topped with Vanilla Ice Cream. Fresh sweet peaches with the crumbly topping make this mouthwatering dessert absolutely perfect.

Ingredients
- 4 large fresh peaches peeled and sliced (or about 8 cups thawed frozen peaches)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour divided
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar divided
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon divided
- ½ teaspoon almond extract
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- ½ cup unsalted butter cut into 1/2-inch cubes
- vanilla ice cream optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degree F.
- In a large bowl, combine 2 Tablespoons of flour, 1/3 cup light brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, almond extract, nutmeg, vanilla extract and salt. Mix until combined. Fold in fresh peaches, gently. Spread evenly in a shallow 2 quart baking dish. Set aside.
- In large bowl (I used the same bowl) combine the remaining flour with 2/3 cup light brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and almonds. Mix gently. Add butter cubes and combine with a pastry cutter (or hands) until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over peach mixture.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until bubbly. Serve topped with Vanilla ice cream, if desired.
Notes
- Can be Gluten free if you choose a gluten free flour.
- After baking, wrap tightly (using foil baking pan or transferring to freezer safe container) and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and heat in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes before serving.
- This is delicious with or without the sliced almonds. You could swap the almonds for pecans if you prefer! Add oats if you skip the nuts.
