Peach Crumb Pie
Description
Peach Crumb Pie combines a tender pie crust with a filling of thawed, sliced peaches mixed with sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice, with cornstarch used to thicken the juices released during baking. The crumb topping includes rolled oats which add a pleasant chewiness and texture contrast to the smooth fruit filling. Baking at 375 degrees until golden brown caramelizes the sugars in both the crust and crumb, enhancing the flavor. The lemon juice brightens the sweetness, while cinnamon adds warmth.
The pie can be served warm or at room temperature and pairs well with cream or ice cream. The crumb topping sets this pie apart by adding a rustic appearance and some crispiness on top, contrasting the soft peach inside.
