Peach Crumble
Description
Peach Crumble combines slices of fresh or peeled peaches with brown sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon for a balanced fruit filling. The peaches soften and release their juices as they bake in a lightly greased casserole dish. The topping made from flour, sugar, pecans, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, egg, and melted butter forms a golden, slightly crunchy layer that contrasts with the soft filling.
Baking at 375°F for about 35 to 40 minutes allows the topping to brown evenly and the peach filling to bubble around the edges, signaling readiness. The finished dish can be served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream, adding creaminess to the sweet and tart dessert.
The recipe allows for pecan omission if preferred. Using fresh peaches is recommended for better texture and flavor, but frozen peaches can be an alternative. Leftover crumble can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
