Peach Dump Cake

Peach Dump Cake is a simple casserole-style dessert combining canned peaches, dry yellow cake mix, cinnamon, and butter. The ingredients are layered in a baking dish and baked until golden brown. The finished cake is warm with a soft, sweet peach filling and a crisp cake topping, commonly served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Description

This Peach Dump Cake is assembled by placing a whole can of peaches in heavy syrup or pie filling into a baking dish, followed by an even layer of yellow cake mix. Small pats of unsalted butter are distributed on top along with a sprinkle of cinnamon. When baked, the butter melts and soaks into the cake mix, creating a crisp, browned topping over a tender, sweet peach base.

The texture contrasts a slightly crunchy cake crust with the juicy, syrupy peaches beneath. The cinnamon adds a warm spice note complementing the fruit and buttery cake flavors. Baking at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes produces a golden-brown surface and bubbly interior.

It is typically served warm and is enhanced by pairing with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, adding creaminess and temperature contrast. This dessert is straightforward, requires minimal preparation, and offers comforting fruit and cake flavors.

Serving immediately after a brief cooling period preserves the ideal texture and warmth.
