Peach Dump Cake

Peach Dump Cake is a simple dessert made by layering canned peaches in syrup with brown sugar, yellow cake mix, and butter in a baking dish and baking until golden brown. This no-fuss dessert features soft peaches beneath a sweet, crisp topping formed by the cake mix and melted butter, creating a warm, comforting treat with a combination of juicy fruit and crumbly cake texture. It's practical for easy preparation when time is limited.

Description

Peach Dump Cake relies on canned peaches packed in heavy syrup combined with yellow cake mix, brown sugar, and butter to create a quick and easy dessert. The method starts with preheating the oven and preparing a baking dish with melted butter and brown sugar to add caramelized sweetness. The peaches and their syrup are 'dumped' directly into the pan, and the cake mix is evenly spread on top.

Butter cut into small pieces is placed evenly over the dry cake mix, which melts during baking to produce a crisp and golden crust. Baking this assembly for 45 minutes develops a warm, tender peach filling beneath a lightly crunchy, buttery cake topping. The dessert marries the juicy sweetness of peaches with a soft crumb and a subtle caramel flavor from the brown sugar and butter.

This dessert requires minimal assembly and no mixing bowl, making it convenient for simple weeknight dinners or casual gatherings. Serving warm is ideal to enjoy the contrast between the runny fruit and the baked crust.
