Ingredients

Servings

Peach Syrup:

  • 16 ounces peaches can also use fresh peaches, frozen
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

Iced Tea:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 family size tea or 6 regular size tea bags, in bags
  • 6 cups water cold
  • 1 cup peach syrup
  • ½ cup granulated sugar

Instructions

Peach Syrup:

  1. Place the frozen peaches, water, and granulated sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium high heat.
  2. As soon as the ingredients begin to boil, reduce heat to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  3. As the ingredients simmer, stir everything together and smash the peaches so that they break apart and release more of their juices.
  4. After 15 minutes turn off the heat and remove the pot from the burner. Let it sit for another 10 minutes.
  5. Place a fine mesh strainer over a large bowl and pour the peaches into the strainer. Press down on the peaches to get as much liquid out as you can. Once done you can throw away the peaches in the strainer.
  6. Pour the peach syrup into a container with a lid and tightly seal. Place in the refrigerator to keep for up to 2 weeks.

Iced Tea:

  1. Pour 2 cups of water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. Once water is boiling turn off the burner and remove the pan from the heat. Add the tea bags and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes remove the tea bags letting excess liquid run back into the pot before throwing away the bags. Note: DO NOT squeeze the tea bags! This will make the tea bitter.
  4. Pour the tea into a 2.5 quart pitcher followed by ½ cup of sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.
  5. Pour 6 cups of cold water and 1 cup of peach syrup into the pitcher and stir together.
  6. Place in the refrigerator to let it cool completely.
  7. Serve over ice.
