Peachy Green Smoothie
Description
The Peachy Green Smoothie features ripe peach and frozen banana combined with fresh baby spinach for a balance of sweetness and leafy green nutrition. The choice of almond or coconut milk provides a dairy-free base that blends smoothly with the fruit and greens. Chia seeds contribute some texture and fiber, while added orange juice adds natural sweetness and a hint of citrus brightness. Ice quantity is varied according to desired thickness, allowing flexibility based on fruit temperature.
Blended thoroughly until smooth, the spinach leaves become well integrated, making their flavor subtle but present. The peach and banana dominate the taste with natural sweetness and creaminess. The smoothie is versatile: quantities can be adjusted, and additional greens or fruits can be incorporated for variation. This drink works well as a light breakfast or nutrient-rich snack during the day.
For easing into green smoothies, starting with smaller amounts of spinach and increasing over time helps develop taste preference. Using a combination of fresh and frozen fruits balances chill and texture, and ice can be added for desired consistency. The recipe emphasizes the smoothie’s adaptable nature without fixed proportions beyond the basics.
Ingredients
- 1 peach super ripe, chopped
- ½ banana large, frozen
- 1-2 baby spinach fresh, handfuls
- ¼ cup almond milk or coconut milk
- 1 TBSP chia seeds
- 1/2-1 cup ice (depending on desired thickness)
- 2 TBSP orange juice or to taste, for sweetness
Instructions
- If it's your first time making a smoothie with spinach, start small and work your way up. I typically add two handfuls to mine.
- Fresh banana and frozen peach will work as will using both fresh or both frozen; the great thing about smoothies is how ridiculously versatile and customizable they are. Simply adjust the ice depending on your fruit's chill factor. If you're using all frozen fruit you'll need less ice and if everyting you toss into the blender is fresh? Get your ice on! You can always add additional ingredients after your initial blend so don't fret if you're winging it!
- Blend and enjoy!
Notes
- Start with a small amount of spinach if you're new to green smoothies, then gradually increase.
- Use either fresh or frozen peach and banana depending on availability; both work well.
- Adjust ice amounts according to how thick or cold you prefer your smoothie.
- Orange juice can be added to taste for extra sweetness and citrus flavor.
- Nutrition information is an estimate; adjust ingredient quantities to meet dietary needs.
