Peanut Butter Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl

This Peanut Butter Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl combines rolled oats cooked with cinnamon and salt in boiling water, then enriched with apple purée, peanut butter, and maple syrup for balanced sweetness and nuttiness. Topped with chopped apples and pecans, and optionally drizzled with extra peanut butter, it offers a hearty morning meal with varied textures and natural flavors.

Description

The recipe begins by bringing water to a boil with cinnamon and salt for flavor. Rolled oats are stirred in and cooked over medium heat until tender, about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Apple purée, peanut butter, and maple syrup are then mixed in and cooked briefly to meld flavors. After cooking, the oatmeal is covered and allowed to sit, thickening and developing its texture further.

The finished bowl presents creamy oatmeal with a warm cinnamon scent, complemented by the sweetness of apple purée and maple syrup. The peanut butter adds richness and a smooth nutty element. Adding chopped apples and pecans on top provides a fresh crispness and crunch contrasting with the soft oatmeal base. Drizzling extra peanut butter can intensify the nutty flavor.

This oatmeal serves well as a filling breakfast or snack, offering natural sweetness and a balance of creamy and crunchy textures. It is adaptable for dietary preferences by swapping nut butters or sweeteners.

Notes advise bringing water to boil before adding oats to prevent excess water absorption, resting oatmeal before serving to thicken, and suggest alternative nut butters or sweeteners to personalize the taste and texture. Adding favorite nuts or seeds can modify the texture as desired.
