Description
The Peanut Sauce combines creamy peanut butter as a base with the salty depth of soy sauce, bright acidity from rice vinegar, and gentle sweetness from honey. Sesame oil adds a toasty undertone, while fresh grated ginger and minced garlic provide fresh pungency and aromatic warmth. Chili oil lends mild heat, adjustable to taste.
Your sauce will have a thick but smooth consistency, easily whisked by hand or processed for extra smoothness. It can be used as a dipping sauce for fresh spring rolls or air-fried vegetables, a dressing for Asian-style salads or bowls, or a coating sauce for noodles and stir-fried tofu.
This versatile sauce can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to a week, allowing flavors to meld. It also freezes well for up to two months and should be thawed in the fridge before reheating gently for best texture.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup peanut butter creamy
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari, low-sodium
- 3 Tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons honey , or granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 Tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger grated, fresh
- 3 cloves garlic , minced
- 2 Tablespoons Chili oil for mild or add more for extra heat
Instructions
- Whisk together until smooth (or use a food processor).
- Uses: Dip for Fresh Spring Rolls, crispy air fryer tofu or veggies. Dressing or sauce drizzle over Asian chicken salad, spring roll bowls, poke bowls, yum yum bowls or coating for peanut noodles.
Notes
- Substitute chili oil with sriracha or sambal oelek for varied heat levels and flavors.
- For a nut-free version, replace peanut butter with tahini.
- The sauce can be prepared in advance and refrigerated up to one week, enhancing flavor integration.
