Pesto Aioli

Pesto Aioli combines creamy mayonnaise with vibrant basil pesto, minced garlic, and lemon juice to create a flavorful sauce with a smooth texture. This versatile condiment balances herbaceous pesto and mild acidity, ideal for spreading on sandwiches, dipping vegetables, or enhancing grilled meats and seafood.

Description

The Pesto Aioli recipe blends mayonnaise with pesto, garlic, lemon juice, and salt to create a rich, creamy sauce infused with fresh herb flavor. The garlic provides a savory undertone, while the lemon juice adds bright acidity, complementing the basil-based pesto. Mixing gradually allows adjusting the pesto amount to taste, controlling the intensity of the herb notes.

Its creamy texture and balanced flavor make the aioli suitable as a spread or dip, adding moisture and herbal freshness to various dishes. It can be served immediately or chilled to meld the flavors further.

Variations include thinning the pesto with olive oil for easier blending, substituting half the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a tangier profile, or adding spice with cayenne or fresh chili. Keeping the aioli refrigerated in an airtight container retains freshness for up to five days.
