Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes (30 Minute Dinner)

Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes combine ground beef with sautéed bell peppers and onions, melted provolone cheese, all served in soft buns. The texture is juicy and cheesy with tender vegetables providing mild sweetness. This quick skillet-based filling creates a sandwich with familiar Philly cheesesteak flavors simplified into a hearty sloppy joe form.

Description

This recipe starts with ground lean beef cooked in a skillet seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Diced bell peppers and onions are added and sautéed until softened but still tender, contributing sweetness and crunch contrast to the beef. Provolone cheese tops the hot mixture and melts under a lid, enriching the filling with creamy, mild melted cheese.

The warm beef and vegetable mixture is spooned into buns that hold the filling well. Wrapping the sandwich with parchment paper helps keep the filling contained when eating. This takes classic Philly cheese steak flavors but presents them in a convenient sloppy joe style ideal for a casual meal.

This dish suits a quick family dinner or relaxed lunch pairing well with simple sides like chips or salad. It is best served immediately to enjoy the melted cheese texture and juicy filling.
