Pimento Cheese Recipe
Description
Pimento Cheese combines sharp white and yellow cheddar cheeses shredded finely with softened cream cheese for a creamy consistency. Diced, drained pimentos add color and mild pepper flavor. Mayonnaise provides smoothness and moisture, while Worcestershire sauce adds depth. Optional minced garlic and cayenne pepper adjust the heat level and flavor complexity, with hot sauce adding customizable spice on serving.
The mixture is gently folded to combine without overworking the cheese. Refrigerating for at least an hour before serving lets the flavors meld and the texture firm up. This recipe makes about one pint and is best stored in a sealed container to maintain freshness.
It serves well as a spread on crackers, sandwiches, or as a dip. Using extra sharp cheddar reduces moisture content, making the spread thicker and more flavorful.
