Pineapple Glazed Ham
Description
This recipe begins by roasting a pre-cooked bone-in ham at 325°F until heated through. Meanwhile, a glaze is prepared by simmering brown sugar, crushed pineapple with juice, orange juice, Dijon mustard, and salt to meld the flavors. Cornstarch mixed with orange juice is added to thicken the glaze to a syrupy consistency.
About 15 minutes before the ham finishes roasting, the glaze is poured over the ham, allowing it to caramelize and create a shiny, sticky coating that balances savory and sweet. The slow roasting ensures the ham is heated evenly and remains moist.
This ham is well suited for holiday dinners or special occasions where a flavorful glazed meat centerpiece is desired. The pineapple and citrus notes brighten the rich ham flavor, making it appealing served with traditional sides.
