Pineapple-Habanero Hot Sauce Recipe

This Pineapple-Habanero Hot Sauce blends the tropical sweetness of fresh pineapple with the intense heat of habanero peppers. Cilantro and lime juice add brightness, while white vinegar and salt bring tang and balance. The sauce can be processed smooth or made chunkier based on preference. It’s simmered to meld flavors, then cooled and optionally strained. This hot sauce offers a vibrant, fruity heat suited for those who enjoy spicy condiments with a tropical twist.

Description

The Pineapple-Habanero Hot Sauce starts by blending chopped habanero peppers, pineapple chunks, fresh cilantro leaves, lime juice, white vinegar, and salt until smooth in a food processor. This mixture combines fruitiness with significant spiciness. The blended sauce is then gently simmered to integrate flavors and mellow raw edges.

After simmering, the sauce is cooled. For a smoother consistency, it can be strained, or left chunkier by skipping the straining step or returning some pulp. The vinegar level can be adjusted before or after cooking to achieve the desired acidity and preserving effect.

This versatile hot sauce is fiery with a sweet undertone from pineapple, brightened by lime and cilantro, making it suitable to complement grilled meats, tacos, or as a spicy dip base. It yields about 12 ounces and should be refrigerated to maintain freshness and flavor.

  • lime juice from 1
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
