Pineapple-Mango Hot Sauce Recipe

This Pineapple-Mango Hot Sauce blends coarsely chopped fatalii chili peppers with fresh pineapple and mango for a tropical, spicy condiment. Fresh cilantro, apple cider vinegar, water, sugar, and salt round out the ingredients. The sauce is blended until smooth, simmered to meld flavors, and can be strained to preferred texture before refrigerating.

Description

The Pineapple-Mango Hot Sauce combines the fruity sweetness of mango and pineapple with the sharp heat of fatalii chili peppers. The ingredients are blended until smooth then simmered to develop flavor and consistency. Cilantro adds herbal brightness, while apple cider vinegar gives acidity that balances sweetness and heat. Sugar and salt fine-tune the taste. The sauce can be strained to your preferred chunkiness and thinned if desired.

This sauce offers a fresh, tropical heat suitable as a condiment for grilled dishes or as a spicy topping. The cooking process integrates flavors and preserves the brightness of the fruit and peppers. Cooling and refrigeration before use allow flavors to meld fully.

The fatalii peppers provide significant heat, so use with caution based on your spice tolerance. This sauce stores well in the refrigerator and can add a unique spicy twist to many dishes.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 fatalii chili pepper coarsely chopped
  • 1 Mango peeled and coarsely chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 2 cups pineapple chopped, fresh
  • 1/4 cup cilantro chopped
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender or food processor. Process until very smooth.
  2. Add to a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer the sauce about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
  4. At this point you can strain your sauce a little or a lot, depending on your preferred level of chunkiness, or add it back to your food processor for a bit more processing time. You can also add water to thin it out if desired.
  5. Transfer to hot sauce bottles and refrigerate at least 1 hour before using.

Notes

  • Fatalii peppers provide strong heat; adjust quantity for desired spice level.
  • Strain the sauce after simmering to achieve your preferred smoothness or chunkiness.
  • Store refrigerated; flavors develop further after chilling.
