Pineapple Pecan Cheese Ball
Description
This Pineapple Pecan Cheese Ball combines softened cream cheese with finely diced green pepper and green onions, along with crushed pineapple to add moisture and sweetness. Seasoning salt balances the flavors. After mixing, part of the pecans is stirred into the mixture, which is then chilled wrapped in plastic wrap to firm up.
Once fully chilled, the mixture is shaped into a ball and rolled in the remaining chopped pecans, which add a crunchy contrast to the creamy interior. The cheese ball is typically served chilled alongside crackers, making it suitable for appetizer trays or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup green pepper finely chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions finely chopped
- 8 ounces pineapple drained extremely well, crushed
- 2 teaspoons seasoning salt
- 2 cups pecans chopped
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, peppers, onions, pineapple, seasoning salt, and 1 cup of pecans.
- Lay out a large sheet of plastic wrap on the counter and scoop the mixture onto the plastic wrap. Fold plastic wrap over the mixture and chill in the fridge for at least four hours, or overnight if possible.
- When completely chilled, shape it into a ball and roll in the remaining pecans. Serve with crackers.
