Pizza Casserole

Pizza Casserole combines ground beef, spiral pasta, pizza sauce, pepperoni, and layers of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese baked together for a comforting and hearty dish. The spiral pasta captures the flavorful sauce, while the pepperoni adds a classic pizza meaty bite. This layered casserole is baked until the cheese melts and browns slightly, making it a satisfying one-dish meal suitable for family dinners. Its structure lets you prepare it ahead and bake when ready, making it convenient for meal planning.

Description

Pizza Casserole starts with cooking spiral pasta and browning ground beef seasoned with Italian seasoning and pizza sauce, creating a rich, savory base. The mixture is layered in a baking dish with pepperoni slices and shredded mozzarella cheese, then repeated for a double layer topped with Parmesan cheese. Baking at 350°F allows the flavors to meld, the cheese to melt thoroughly, and the top to develop a slight crust, adding texture. The combination of seasoned beef, tangy pizza sauce, melted cheese, and pepperoni results in a hearty, pizza-flavored casserole that holds well and is easy to serve in portions.

This casserole serves as a filling meal on its own, pairing well with a light salad or steamed vegetables for balance. Its recipe design supports preparing it ahead of time and baking just before serving, which adds to its practicality in home cooking.

Notes on storage suggest refrigerating leftovers tightly covered for up to three days or freezing the unbaked casserole wrapped well for up to three months. Baking time should be extended when cooking from frozen to ensure thorough heating. This versatility helps with planning and managing leftovers efficiently.
