Pizza Toast In Air Fryer

This Air Fryer Pizza Toast is a quick recipe and is perfect for school lunches or an after-school snack for kids.

  • 4 slices bread
  • 3 tablespoon butter I have used Salted Amul Butter
  • 1.5 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 2 medium onion sliced thin
  • 2 medium tomato thin round sliced
  • 3-4 cloves garlic grated or chopped small
  • 3 teaspoon Oregano or mixed herbs
  • ¾ cup tomato ketchup
  • 15 leaves fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut veggies. Grate Mozzarella cheese. I also made quick pizza sauce - heat butter, add chopped garlic, and switch off the flame when the butter is bubbly. Add it to tomato ketchup and dried oregano. Mix it well. While you prep, you may preheat the air fryer at 180°C for 8 minutes.
  2. Lay out your bread slices. Sprinkle a generous amount of mozzarella cheese directly onto each bread slice, followed by basil, pizza sauce, onion, and tomato. Another layer of cheese and sauce as you like it.You may choose to air fryer bread slice from one side first and then layer it on the toasted side and air fryer it again. I didn't do that as I was okay with just the base being crusty.
  3. Place the prepared pizza toast in the air fryer basket. Cook at 180°C for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is crispy. Depending upon the size of the air fryer, you may have to make pizza toast in batches. Just be careful after the first batch as the air fryer quickly melts the cheese.
  4. Serve the fried Pizza Toast with garlic dip or a fresh apple salad.

Notes

  • The toppings won't be very soft and are a bit crunchy. If you like cooked toppings, you may pre-cook them while roasting garlic in butter.
  • You may choose to air fry bread slice from on side first where the toppings are added for an extra crusty bite.
  • Be watchful after the first batch of air frying as the bread gets crispy and browned very fast.
