Popcorn Shrimp

Popcorn Shrimp features small peeled and deveined shrimp coated in a seasoned flour mixture, dipped in egg and milk, then fried to a golden crisp. The result is crunchy yet tender shrimp with a smoky paprika note and subtle garlic flavor. Finished with fresh parsley, these bite-sized shrimp make a flavorful appetizer or snack.

Description

This recipe begins by combining all-purpose flour with salt, paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder to create a seasoned dredge. Small shrimp are first tossed with some flour mixture, then dipped in an egg and milk wash before being coated again in the flour blend. This double coating ensures a crispy crust when fried.

The shrimp cook quickly in hot vegetable oil until golden and just cooked through, maintaining a tender interior. Draining on paper towels removes excess oil. Fresh parsley is sprinkled on top to add brightness and a fresh peppery aroma.

Popcorn Shrimp serves well as finger food at casual gatherings or as a complement to salads and dips. The measured seasoning mix balances flavor without overpowering the shrimp's natural taste.
