Poppy Seed Bread

Poppy Seed Bread is a moist, tender loaf flavored with vanilla, almond, and butter extracts alongside crunchy poppy seeds. The batter is a balanced mix of flour, sugar, eggs, milk, and vegetable oil, resulting in a rich texture. Baking in a loaf pan creates a golden crust with a soft crumb inside, ideal for slicing and serving as a sweet bread.

Description

This Poppy Seed Bread recipe begins by sifting together flour, salt, and baking powder to ensure even leavening. The wet ingredients—vegetable oil, eggs, and sugar—are combined until smooth, then flavored with vanilla, almond, and butter extracts for a layered aromatic profile. Poppy seeds add a light crunch and subtle nutty note dispersed throughout the bread.

The dry mixture is gradually whisked into the wet ingredients to create a smooth batter that pours evenly into a greased 9x5 loaf pan. Baking at 350°F for 55-60 minutes yields a moist interior with a golden crust.

This bread works well as a breakfast treat or snack and pairs nicely with tea or coffee.
