Pork Chop Marinade

Report
This Pork Chop Marinade recipe features a simple blend of olive oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and black pepper to infuse bone-in pork chops with savory and subtly sweet flavors. Marinating the pork chops for at least 30 minutes allows the meat to absorb the marinade, enhancing tenderness and taste. Grilling the chops over medium-high heat produces a nicely caramelized exterior while keeping the interior juicy. The brown sugar in the marinade may cause quicker browning, so adjusting grill temperature helps prevent burning.

Description

Pork Chop Marinade combines soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce with brown sugar and garlic to create a flavorful soaking liquid for bone-in pork chops. The marinade balances savory and sweet components, contributing to a complex taste. After marinating, grilling the pork chops over medium-high heat until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F ensures they are safely cooked and juicy. Letting the chops rest after grilling allows juices to redistribute, enhancing tenderness and flavor. The method highlights monitoring grill heat carefully due to sugar content, preventing burning while achieving a caramelized crust.

This recipe is straightforward for home grilling and results in pork chops with a tasty outer glaze balanced by a tender interior. It works nicely as a main protein for a meal alongside simple sides like salads or grilled vegetables.

Using an instant read thermometer helps confirm doneness accurately since cooking times vary with chop thickness. Removing the pork from the refrigerator 20 minutes before grilling ensures more even cooking temperature throughout the meat.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 4 pork chops bone-in
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place all the ingredients except for the pork chops in a large zip lock bag. Seal the bag and shake or massage the bag to thoroughly combine the ingredients.
  2. Then place the pork chops in the bag and marinade for at least 30 minutes but you can marinate over night as well.
  3. Take the pork chops out of the refrigerator 20 minutes before cooking them.
  4. Heat the grill over medium high heat to at least 400 degrees F and rub the grill gates with oil so that the pork chops do not stick while grilling.
  5. Place the pork chops on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side (based on the thickness of the pork chops) until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. The pork will release naturally from the grill gates when it's ready to flip. If the pork is browning too quickly because of the sugar in the marinade, reduce the temperature on the grill.
  6. Move the pork chops to a plate and let them rest for 3-5 minutes before serving

Notes

  • Use an instant-read thermometer to check pork chop internal temperature for perfect doneness.
  • Let pork chops rest 3-5 minutes after grilling to keep them juicy.
  • Remove pork chops from the fridge about 20 minutes before cooking for even grilling.
  • If brown sugar causes the pork to brown too quickly, lower the grill temperature to avoid burning.
