Ingredients

  • 4 pork loin chops , boneless
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper coarse ground
  • 4 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 2 apple peeled and thinly sliced, Granny Smith variety
  • 1 yellow onion , thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic , minced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme stem removed, fresh

Instructions

  1. Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Add butter to a large heavy skillet on medium-high heat and cook the pork chops for 5-6 minutes.
  3. Remove the pork, lower the heat to medium, add in the apples and onions and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add in the chicken broth, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic, and thyme, stirring well.
  5. Add the pork chops back into the pan and let the sauce simmer for 4-5 minutes until the sauce has thickened and onions are tender.
