Pork Loin Chops in Oven
Description
Pork Loin Chops in Oven begins by rubbing the chops with olive oil and coating them evenly with a spice mix containing smoked paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and ground thyme. Placed in a baking pan sprayed with cooking spray, the chops roast at 400ºF until an internal temperature of 145ºF is reached, generally about 17 minutes, resulting in juicy and tender chops with a seasoned crust. Resting the meat for five minutes after roasting allows the juices to redistribute, enhancing moistness.
The seasoning blend enriches the chops with smoky, herbal flavors balanced by savory notes and a subtle sweetness from the paprika. The relatively quick roast time makes this recipe straightforward for a weeknight or weekend dinner. The finished pork loin chops can be served alongside vegetables or grains for a satisfying meal.
It’s important to monitor the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking. Using boneless pork loin chops ensures uniform cooking. After slicing, leftover chops can be refrigerated and reheated carefully to retain moisture.
Ingredients
- 4 pork loin chops 1” thick, boneless
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
- 1/2 tablespoon oregano dried
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme ground
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF. Spray a 9x13” baking pan with cooking spray.
- Rub each pork chop with olive oil. 4 boneless pork loin chops, 2 tablespoons olive oil
- In a small bowl, mix together the seasoning mix. 1/2 tablespoon smoked paprika, 1/2 tablespoon onion powder, 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon ground thyme
- Rub the pork chops on both sides with the seasoning mix, then place in the baking pan.
- Roast the pork chops for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature tests 145ºF (test with a meat thermometer). Mine took about 17 minutes.
- Allow the cooked pork chops to rest for 5 minutes to seal in the juices, then serve.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to test doneness by reaching 145ºF for safe, juicy pork chops.
- Allow chops to rest 5 minutes after roasting to seal in juices and improve tenderness.
- The recipe yields four pork chops; nutritional estimates may vary based on ingredient brands.
- Boneless chops offer consistent cooking times and ease in preparation.
