Pork Steaks in Crock Pot
Description
Pork Steaks are seasoned generously with a pork rub blend, Celtic sea salt, and freshly cracked black pepper, then placed in a slow cooker. Cooking on high for 4 to 6 hours renders the pork fork tender and flavorful. The gradual cooking method allows the spices to infuse while breaking down connective tissue in the meat, producing a moist and tender texture.
Once cooked, the pork can be served whole alongside rice, vegetables, or salad for a straightforward meal. Alternatively, shredding the meat extends its versatility, making it suitable for tacos, burritos, or pulled pork sandwiches. The recipe's simple seasoning highlights the natural pork flavor enhanced by the slow cooking.
Ingredients
- 4 pork steak
- 2 tbsp pork rub
- 1 tsp sea salt Celtic variety
- 1 tsp black pepper fresh cracked
Instructions
- Pat any excess moisture off pork steaks with paper towel.
- Generously rub pork steaks with pork rub, salt, and pepper.
- Place in slow cooker and cook on high for 4-6 hours, until fork tender (my slow cookers vary wildly - check pork after 4 hours, and adjust cook time if not tender yet.)
- When pork is fork tender, remove and serve with rice, vegetables, or a salad - or shred and enjoy in tacos, burritos, or a pulled pork sandwich!
