Prosciutto Wrapped Figs with Blue Cheese

Prosciutto Wrapped Figs with Blue Cheese combines fresh figs halved and stuffed with crumbled blue cheese, then wrapped in thin prosciutto strips and cooked until crisp. Served over baby arugula with a drizzle of golden balsamic vinaigrette, this dish balances sweet, savory, and peppery flavors. It can be grilled or air fried for a quick preparation of a flavorful appetizer or salad component.

Description

This recipe features large fresh figs that are cut nearly through at the stem end and stuffed with a small amount of crumbled blue cheese pressed inside. The figs are then wrapped with thin strips of prosciutto and secured with toothpicks. The wrapped figs can be cooked by grilling over high heat or air frying until the prosciutto becomes crisp and the fig softens slightly.

The dish is served atop a bed of baby arugula, which adds a fresh, slightly bitter contrast to the rich and sweet figs and salty prosciutto. The addition of a golden balsamic vinegar dressing enhances the flavor with brightness and subtle acidity. A pinch of salt and black pepper completes the seasoning.

This preparation makes an elegant appetizer or light salad. The combination of textures from the soft fig, creamy blue cheese, crispy prosciutto, and fresh greens creates a balanced taste experience. The recipe allows for advance preparation by assembling up to a day beforehand and refrigerating.
