Prosciutto Wrapped Pears with Blue Cheese

Prosciutto Wrapped Pears with Blue Cheese combine juicy pear slices topped with creamy blue cheese and wrapped in salty prosciutto. This no-cook appetizer balances sweetness, savory flavors, and smooth textures for a simple yet elegant bite. The blue cheese adds richness while the prosciutto provides a delicate cured saltiness that contrasts the fruit's freshness.

Description

The recipe uses ripe pears sliced thinly and cored, topped with a small piece of blue cheese or gorgonzola. Each pear and cheese stack is wrapped with half-length prosciutto slices secured by toothpicks or skewers. This assembly requires no cooking and is intended to be served immediately or chilled.

The flavor profile combines the sweet juiciness of the pear with the sharp creaminess of blue cheese, contrasted by the savory, salt-cured prosciutto. The textural contrast between soft fruit and firm cured meat makes each bite interesting. The dish is straightforward but offers elegance with minimal ingredients.

Serving chilled is ideal to maintain the fresh texture of the pear and firm structure. This appetizer fits well as a starter for gatherings or light snacks during wine tastings.

To prevent browning when preparing ahead, rubbing the pears with fresh lemon juice is recommended. Consume the dish on the day it is made to enjoy the best texture and flavor combination.
