Protein Powder Brownies (Dairy-Free & Gluten-Free)

Protein Powder Brownies are dairy-free and gluten-free baked bars combining almond butter, cacao powder, mashed bananas, vegan chocolate protein powder, and coconut yogurt. The batter is enriched with eggs and vanilla extract, folded with mini chocolate chips to add bursts of sweetness. Baking yields moist, rich brownies with a firm yet soft texture that can be adjusted by baking time. These brownies cater to those seeking a protein-enriched dessert with familiar chocolate flavors free from dairy and gluten.

Description

These Protein Powder Brownies blend almond butter and mashed bananas to create moisture and natural sweetness in a dairy-free, gluten-free base. Cacao powder and vegan chocolate protein powder supply chocolate flavor and added protein. The inclusion of eggs and vanilla extract binds the ingredients and enhances taste. Coconut yogurt adds further moisture while keeping the recipe dairy-free. Mini chocolate chips are folded in to create pockets of melted sweetness. The batter is poured into a parchment-lined pan and baked until set but can be slightly underbaked for a fudgier texture.

The brownies have a dense, moist crumb that benefits from cooling completely before slicing to hold shape. Baking time adjustments allow the texture to be tailored from fudgy to more cakey. Using different brands of dairy-free yogurt may influence the taste and texture somewhat. Storage on the counter or in the refrigerator is possible; refrigerated brownies should be allowed to come to room temperature before consuming to soften their texture.

To enhance fudginess, reduce baking time slightly so the center remains moist. The recipe highlights the importance of complete cooling for best slicing results. This dessert suits those seeking chocolate brownies with added protein and free from common allergens like dairy and gluten.

Notes

  • Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing to ensure clean cuts.
  • For fudgier brownies, reduce baking time slightly so the center remains moist or batter-like when tested.
  • Most dairy-free yogurts can be used; the choice will affect final taste and texture.
  • Brownies can be stored at room temperature but last longer refrigerated; bring to room temperature before eating to soften.
