Pull Apart Garlic Bread Wreath

The Pull Apart Garlic Bread Wreath uses pizza dough shaped into small balls, arranged in a circular pattern and brushed with a garlic, parsley, and butter mixture, then topped with Parmesan cheese. Baked until golden, it's served with marinara sauce in the center for dipping. This creates a shareable bread with a crispy exterior, soft interior, and savory garlic flavor, ideal as an appetizer or side dish.

Description

This recipe transforms pizza dough into a visually appealing wreath of pull-apart bread. After resting the dough, it is divided into one-ounce portions, formed into balls, and arranged around a water-filled ramekin to create a ring shape on a baking sheet. Each dough ball is brushed generously with melted butter mixed with fresh parsley, minced garlic, and kosher salt, then sprinkled with grated Parmesan cheese.

The bread bakes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 25 to 30 minutes until golden brown and crisp on the outside while remaining soft inside. Removing the ramekin after baking reveals a hollow center filled with warm marinara sauce, inviting dipping. The garlic butter brush adds a rich, aromatic flavor that complements the tender bread and the sharpness of the Parmesan.

This pull-apart wreath works well as a communal starter or side, especially alongside Italian meals or salads. Serving immediately ensures the bread stays soft and warm for easy tearing and dipping.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 ½ pounds pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • ¼ cup butter melted, unsalted
  • 1 ½ tablespoons parsley chopped fresh leaves
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Let dough stand at room temperature for 30 minutes up to 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Lightly oil the outside of a 6-ounce ramekin or coat with nonstick spray and place in the center of the prepared baking sheet. Fill with water.
  4. Using a digital scale, cut dough into 1-ounce pieces, yielding 22-24 total pieces, pressing each piece into a disk, then shaping into a ball.
  5. In a small bowl, combine butter, parsley, garlic and salt.
  6. Place dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet in a circular pattern around the ramekin. Brush tops with butter mixture; sprinkle with Parmesan.
  7. Place into oven and bake until golden brown, about 25-30 minutes. Working carefully, remove ramekin and discard water. Fill with marinara and return to the center of the baking sheet; brush tops with remaining butter mixture.
  8. Serve immediately.
