Pumpkin French Toast Casserole

Pumpkin French Toast Casserole combines cubed French bread soaked overnight in a spiced mixture of pumpkin puree, eggs, half and half, and pumpkin spice coffee creamer. Slow-cooked until set, it offers a moist, custardy texture with warm notes of nutmeg and cloves. Served with a rich maple sauce featuring butter, brown sugar, and maple extract, this casserole suits cozy mornings or special brunches when a comforting sweet dish with fall flavors is desired.

Description

Pumpkin French Toast Casserole uses cubed French bread soaked in a mixture of pumpkin puree, half and half, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, and spices such as nutmeg, cloves, and pumpkin spice coffee creamer. Refrigerated overnight to absorb the flavors, it is then slow-cooked until the custard is set and the bread is soft but holds shape. A maple sauce made from butter, brown sugar, maple extract, evaporated milk, and vanilla rounds out the dish with a sweet and buttery topping.

The casserole has a creamy, tender consistency with warm autumn spices enhancing the pumpkin flavor. The slow cooker method allows gentle, even cooking without drying out the bread. Once plated, the dish is finished with the homemade maple sauce, adding a glossy, sweet layer that pairs well with optional whipped cream and pecans.

This dish works well for breakfast or brunch gatherings, offering a sliceable, shareable alternative to individual French toast. The combination of pumpkin, spices, and maple is distinctively seasonal.
