Pumpkin Spice Moscow Mule
Description
This recipe begins by preparing a pumpkin spice syrup from water, granulated sugar, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, ground ginger, allspice, and cloves. After boiling and steeping the spices, the syrup cools and chills. The cocktail is then mixed by combining ginger beer, freshly squeezed lime juice, vodka, and the pumpkin spice syrup over ice. Stirring integrates flavors, and a lime wedge garnish adds brightness and visual appeal.
The flavor profile balances the sharpness of ginger beer and lime with smooth vodka and layered spices from pumpkin puree and associated autumn spices. The syrup adds a subtle pumpkin sweetness without overwhelming the cocktail. Served cold, the mule remains crisp and effervescent with added seasonal complexity.
This drink fits well in fall or holiday settings where festive, spiced cocktails are appreciated. For stronger taste preferences, adjusting the ginger beer quantity allows customization. Additionally, the recipe outlines instructions for making a larger pitcher batch for multiple servings, offering convenience for entertaining.
Chilling the syrup before mixing and adding ginger beer last helps maintain carbonation. Steeping the syrup longer intensifies its spice aroma. Leaving the cinnamon stick in the syrup can deepen flavor if desired.
