This recipe will teach you how to make queso blanco from scratch just like they serve at your favorite Mexican restaurant (without Velveeta!). It's made of high quality cheese and fresh ingredients which come together to make the perfectly creamy dip!

Ingredients
- 1 pound American cheese roughly chopped into 1" pieces, white
- 3 tablespoons green chiles chopped
- 2 tablespoons jalapeño peppers diced (more or less to your liking, pickled
- 2 tablespoons jalapeno pepper juice from pickled jalapenos
- 1 cup milk whole
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- cumin to taste, dash
- kosher salt to taste
Instructions
- Add the cheese and milk to a large saucepan and heat over medium-low heat.
- Continue to stir until melted.
- Once melted add in green chiles, jalapenos, pickled jalapeno juice, onion powder, garlic powder, and cumin. Whisk to combine.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips.
